For now, I've added a hasobject member to the dtype object structure and 
filled it in properly on construction.  Then, I disable construction of 
such arrays so that we don't get the segfault.  I think this is too 
harsh.  I think at some point we can offer some support for them (there 
may be a few methods and functions that don't work and we can give an 
error on those particular ones rather than not allow their construction).
