All good points stated here.
Unfortunatly I'm not able to contribute, and as stated also in other
thread, scipy/python was not born for being a clone of matlab (uhmm well
probably matplotlib at first was). What would be the "killer" distro for
matlab ?
An updated distro with numpy/scipy/matplotlib, all in one (also portable
can be good ;)
A good workspace (with an interactive button) just to not get figures
freezed
Copy and paste from spreadsheet with a small windows to look at your
variables
after that there would be no more reason to use matlab..
If any guru/ generous programmer is listening ;)...
My two cents
Giorgio
