Not python per-se, but yes, the standard builds of Python on OS-X are
all 32 bit.
I'm pretty sure that python2.6 builds successfully as 64 on OS-X --
check the archives and/or send a note to the pythonmac list:
http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/pythonmac-sig
to get more info.
You will need to build python and all the extension packages you need to
make it work, though.
macports is worth checking out -- I think it can do 64 bit builds.
