[Numpy-discussion] matrix default to column vector?

Or make them better. There was a pretty good discussion of this a while 
back on this list. We all had a lot of opinions, and there were some 
good ideas in that thread. However, no none stepped up to implement any 
of it.

I think the reason is that none of the core numpy developers use 
them/want them. In fact, many of those contributing to the discussion 
(myself included), didn't think it likely that they'd use them, even 
with improvements.

Someone that thinks they are important needs to step up and really make 
them work.
