A followup on the previous thread on scalar speed.
operations with numpy scalars
I can *maybe* understand this
>>> np.array(2)[()] * [0.5, 1]
[0.5, 1, 0.5, 1]
but don't understand this
>>> np.array(2.+0.1j)[()] * [0.5, 1]
__main__:1: ComplexWarning: Casting complex values to real discards
the imaginary part
[0.5, 1, 0.5, 1]
The difference in behavior compared to the other operators, +,-, /,**,
looks, at least, like an inconsistency to me.
