[Numpy-discussion] numpy.random.geometric is shifted

Just got momentarily snagged by not checking the
excellent documentation, which clearly says that
numpy provides the shifted geometric.  I'm wondering
why? Who else does?  (Not Mathematica, Matlab, Maple,
or Octave.)
