The new doctest runner suggested in the printing thread? This is to 
ignore whitespace and precision in ndarray output.

I can see an argument for distributing it in numpy if it is designed to 
be specially aware of ndarrays or numpy scalars (eg to test equality 
between 'wants' and 'got')
