Thank you for replying to my post. Below is the result of running the 
Absoft Compiler with the -V option:

(base) Samuels-Mac-Pro:2nd_ODE_auto_deriv_cleanup_Rev-07 user$ f77 -V
Absoft Pro Fortran 19.0.0
ERROR: No input files.
(base) Samuels-Mac-Pro:2nd_ODE_auto_deriv_cleanup_Rev-07 user$
