[Pandas-dev] pandas 2 still active?

hi Nathan,

All relevant work along these lines the last couple of years has been
happening in the Apache Arrow project
(https://github.com/apache/arrow). What we had been calling "pandas 2"
will most likely appear with a new project name (and be a companion
project to pandas-dev/pandas) at some point in the future, but it's
going to take some time. Projects like these, particularly given the
sparse funding situation, take many years to build.
