Initial Comment:
I noticed that Section 1 of "Extending and
Embedding..." used K&R C fxn declarations.  So I went
through and changed them to follow the PEP 7 standard.

I plan to check this in shortly, with the additional change
that argv will be "char *argv[]" instead of "char **argv",
but the SF CVS servers are down at the moment.
