Category: Library (Lib)
Group: Python 2.3
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Priority: 5
Submitted By: George Yoshida (quiver)

Summary: use basestring where possible

Initial Comment:
This patch replaces isinstance(foo, (str, unicode))

with isinstance(foo, basestring).

This will make the scripts cleaner, faster and less

error prone.

Apparently, this patch applies to Python >= 2.3.
