There's no way to give access to specific users?

Yes, there likely is. I'm no longer all that conversant in the
language of MoinMoin acls though. You'd probably have to create a
TrainingUsers page or something, add a bullet list of qualified users,
then protect that page, and adjust the acl on the PythonTraining page
accordingly.

If I have a few minutes this evening (and nobody beats me to it) I
will try to cook something up.

I finally got around to this today. I added a PythonTrainingGroup page:

http://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonTrainingGroup

This lists a few known trainers. Marilyn Davis confirmed that she can
edit the PythonTraining page:

http://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonTraining

I can edit it as well, but that's because I'm in the AdminGroup. Can
someone who is not in the AdminGroup and not listed in the
PythonTrainingGroup page check the PythonTraining page to make sure it
appears immutable for you?

Thanks,

Skip

To me it looks immutable.
URL = http://wiki.python.org/moin/PythonTraining

On the left under "Page" I see "Immutable Page"

Hope this helps,
Stefan

Yes, I think everything is as it should be. I think that the initial problem
may have been related to not being logged in, as the ACL was only letting
people who are in the Known category (which is everyone who is effectively
logged in or returning the Moin cookie) edit the page, and I see that Marilyn
edited it back in September as a logged in user.

If people don't want to have to maintain separate Moin account details, we
could once again consider the OpenID support, I suppose.

Python custom OpenID support is already enabled. Not integrated with
upstream to test if it's secure, but login with Google account works.

That just goes to show how long it is since I last checked!

On wider Wiki matters, I noticed that the Jython Wiki is getting regular spam:

http://wiki.python.org/jython/RecentChanges

Maybe TextCHA support could be enabled for that Wiki, at least to keep the
level of spam to a reasonable minimum.

Must be IMHO. TextCHA is also an annoying thing. Now with some serious guys
paid to do the site plumbing works, how about creating a wishlist for them,
which will also include the point:

    * do not show wiki TextCHAs to users with more than 10 edits

We only need a maintainer for this list. It will also be handy for the next
Code In and GSoC challenges.

Yeah, footing the bill for the certificates isn't a big thing for such a
big project that Python is..

Yes I could work with people to get SSL going. I'm not sure where to
start though, and would like some pointers as to who I can talk to.

I'm not always available (self-employed so stress and work amount goes up
and down), but could try to set up things so that a group of people, or
someone new, can maintain it as a whole.

Triple-checking after logging in, it's also immutable for me.

I'd suggest that Skip and other admins create fake accounts for
themselves to check stuff like this.
