Can't watch any of the videos in "5 Minutes with Python: A Video
Series" (http://www.python.org/doc/av/5minutes/), when i play the
video, it shows "video not found error".

But these videos exists in the original website showmedo.com. I can
actually watch these videos in the showmedo.com.

Hi Folks,

On the page http://www.python.org/3kpoll there is a list of requests to
migrate packages to Python 3. Next to each package in that list, it would be
quite useful to add the status of Python 3 support. This page currently
leaves the uniformed reader with the impression that all these requests remain
unfulfilled.

    Thanks.

Looks like the Showmedo embedding doesn't work anymore. The URLs
used for the FLV player give a 404.

They have apparently switch to Flowplayer now.

I've updated the embedding snippets to what showmedo uses now.

There were a few flags missing from the flag host, so I've moved the flag
hosting to python.org and added a more complete pack. I also added PyCon
Spain.

(for the pydotorg www folk, the flag icons are in /images/iso-3166-1-flags/
and include the additional "eu.png" and a symlink for "gb.png" to "uk.png")

My packages always show downloaded counts that would seem to be inflated. I
released a new service yesterday, along with a client made available on
PyPI. It shows that hundreds of people have downloaded it, yet there I
don't have any new signups. Though it's reasonable that some of my packages
would have high counts, why would three-hundred people download a client
that they couldn't use without signing-up?

You would be better off asking on the distutils list since thats where PyPI dev happens. I don't think we do much filtering, its just based on raw data from Fastly, so it includes downloads from mirrors and search bots et al.

I pushed a change several hours ago (r14926) which did not magically
appear on the web site. The change was a one-character edit to
build/data/download/content.ht to say "alpha 4" instead of "alpha 3". I
wound up manually editing the output file on dinsdale to make Guido happy.

The automated update process does seem to work in general; a subsequent
edit I made (r14932) did go live without any manual intervention.

Any clue what could have gone wrong?

The web system used on python.org sometimes needs some extra
triggering to actually run the update. It uses a cache to
reduce the number of files that have to be rebuild, but it's
dependency tracking is not perfect.

BTW: There's a way to check the current status of the build system:

When I try to log-in on bugs.python.org using Chrome (28), the browser does
a post, and presents a "broken form: multiple @action values submitted"
banner. No other content shows.

It works fine under Firefox. I'd submit a bug, but the normal Python bug
tracker doesn't seem to have a website-related category. Is there a place
that I can report the bug?

The "meta" tracker is located at
http://psf.upfronthosting.co.za/roundup/meta/ -- this is where you'd
report it.

Hey all,

Who is able to add SSH keys for access to the python.org repo? I have a few outstanding requests on the pydotorg mailing list from people willing to help out with Planet Python maintenance and we're blocked on getting their keys added.

All the best,

Michael
