I'm wondering: perhaps we could remove the moderation requirement altogether ?! We'd get a little more spam, but I think it's manageable. -- Marc-Andre Lemburg eGenix.com Professional Python Services directly from the Source >>> Python/Zope Consulting and Support ... http://www.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC.Zope.Database.Adapter ... http://zope.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC, mxDateTime, mxTextTools ... http://python.egenix.com/ ________________________________________________________________________ ::: Try our new mxODBC.Connect Python Database Interface for free ! :::: eGenix.com Software, Skills and Services GmbH Pastor-Loeh-Str.48 D-40764 Langenfeld, Germany. Largely the traffic is from people requesting Wiki access, because they're usually not members of the list, or it's spam. IIRC, wasn't moderation introduced to the list for a reason? We could just remove it, as long as people don't complain about the occasional spam message that gets through. --amk From rosuav at gmail.com Mon Mar 30 16:18:03 2015 From: rosuav at gmail.com (Chris Angelico) Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2015 01:18:03 +1100 Subject: [pydotorg-www] Moderation of this list In-Reply-To: <551957D5.5020002@egenix.com> References: <551957D5.5020002@egenix.com> Message-ID: On Tue, Mar 31, 2015 at 1:04 AM, M.-A. This list is a bit unusual, in that it's more used for the general public to alert a group of people than it's used for discussion amongst that group of people. How many spam a day does it see? Would it be enough to bother people? ChrisA From mal at egenix.com Mon Mar 30 16:30:24 2015 From: mal at egenix.com (M.-A. Perhaps we could just try to turn off moderation and then revisit this in a month or so. -- Marc-Andre Lemburg eGenix.com Professional Python Services directly from the Source >>> Python/Zope Consulting and Support ... http://www.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC.Zope.Database.Adapter ... http://zope.egenix.com/ >>> mxODBC, mxDateTime, mxTextTools ... http://python.egenix.com/ ________________________________________________________________________ ::: Try our new mxODBC.Connect Python Database Interface for free ! :::: eGenix.com Software, Skills and Services GmbH Pastor-Loeh-Str.48 D-40764 Langenfeld, Germany. So let's try this. If we get too much spam, we can switch moderation on again.
