Hi there,

I am writing this email to ask for editing permissions on the WebFrameworks <https://wiki.python.org/moin/WebFrameworks> Wiki.

I am the maintainer of a Python web framework myself: Bocadillo <https://bocadilloproject.github.io/>. I would like to add it to the list of ? Other Non-Full Stack Frameworks" in order to improve its discoverability by the community. :-)

Let me know if that sounds fair.

Thanks,
Florimond (aka FlorimondManca on wiki.python.org <http://wiki.python.org/>)

I was going to say - sounds fair, but how much were you going to
contribute to our Patreon account in appreciation for being added? :)
Sadly, I was beaten to the punch....

Given the "you're either in the non-async world or you're in the async
world" nature exposed by your first point, why don't you just go for it?
It's a wiki, if people hate it it can just be changed again.

Less clear on fullstack/non-fullstack distinction, maybe others have
opinions? (or you could elaborate further?)

Yes, sure, Mats. This is actually my first time as a wiki editor so I?m still new to the workflow. Will send an update when I get time!

In accord with what?s been said so far. Think of the Wikibeditorial force
as little gnomes, each making small positive changes in their area(s) of
expertise. It isn?t like Wikipedia, and conflict is rare.

Thanks for caring enough to seek editor permissions.

 Steve

Hi MaryBeth,

Sorry about the problems - I don't know why
https://wiki.python.org/moin/FrontPage?action=newaccount is spinning its
wheels, I end with a 504 (Gateway Timeout), but I don't yet know what that
means. I'm hoping one of the Wiki admins can step in here with more
information.

Kind regatds
Steve Holde.

This is the usual problem we're facing with the wiki VM: it's overloaded
with bots or SEO crowds of people trying to create accounts.

There isn't much we can do, since the traffic doesn't originate
from just a few IP addresses.

At some point, I think we will have to make the VM get more CPU power
and esp. I/O bandwidth to better handle the load.

For now, I can only recommend to try at a later time.

Thanks.

Message-ID: <CAPZUbJ5KxV6bfp=Bf1+56aQ=3uMzMCubho-KWMi5VJcA3EFouA@mail.gmail.com>

Hello,

my Name is Amir Teymuri and i am the author of the Kodou module. I was
wondering if it is possible to add some information about Kodou on the wiki?
Kodou is a very small and minimalist module which is capable of doing
complex music notation. It is a work in progress, which i have been
developing since last year.
Here is the link to it's homepage:

https://kodou.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

With regards,
Amir Teymuri

Hi! Long time listener, first time caller.

I'd like to be able to edit to fix a broken link for PyGTA someone pointed
out on https://wiki.python.org/moin/LocalUserGroups#Canada

They were unable to sign up, so I wanted to help fix the link. My username
is "ironfroggy".

Thanks!

Hi,

I have just added myself as user FinnGruwier on wiki.python.org. I'm a
Python professional & entusiast, and also amateur musician.

I'd like to add my own new project, Musicology
(https://gitlab.com/groovier/musicology) to the PythonInMusic page on
the wiki, and maybe clean up som dead links at the same time.

Best regards,

Finn Gruwier Larsen

Doh, you did give the username in the first message, my bad.

FinnGruwier should now have editing privileges, once you get past the
timeout problem (which usually means the wiki is being assaulted by
spambots trying to make accounts - useless, since they'll never get
editing permission, but still loads the server down). Keep trying
every now and then, and you should get logged in before long.
