I think that's a shame. Also, it kind of contradicts your aim of having
PyGUI in Python's standard library. Python 2.7 is likely to be the last
2.x version and I can't see PyGUI going into that. So the only realistic
possibility for PyGUI to be in the standard library is to go into a 3.x
version.
