On my iBook with 1.25G total RAM, it ran out of free RAM and started  
swapping heavily, so I killed it. On my iMac (core duo, Leopard, 2G  
RAM) it built successfully in a reasonable time; however I was not  
trying to do anything else at the time. It used about 1.1G of RAM and  
about the same of virtual memory IIRC.
