weird. It fails when it tries to import curdir from os.path; could you 
try the following please?

./pypy-jvm -c 'import os.path; print os.path'
./pypy-jvm -c' import os.path; print dir(os.path)'

or maybe just come on #pypy on freenode, so we can try real time 
debugging over irc :-). My nick is antocuni.
