Well, I can answer that now :)

The level of sandboxing is the level on which RPython operates - it
does not necesarilly relate 1:1 to os module functions. You would need
to look at implementation of os.listdir which C functions it calls. If
you enable debug (is it on by default?) it'll give you what functions
are called with what parameters. Also a pdb would help there. I can
look at those errors precisely if you want me to.
