if i remember correctly the memory fragmentation was noted by the dropbox 
guys in http://pycon.blip.tv/file/4878722/ if i also remember correctly 
one of the last slides is a shout out to pypy indicating it doesn't have 
this problem

if the video is incorrect let me know and i will dig through my 
archives for the correct video
