Then stop looking at this particular benchmark site :-)  The Python
programs you see there are not in the slightest way "comfortable" at
all (just like, I'm sure, the non-Python programs).  Look instead for
the performance running some general programs with no or minimal
performance-related tweaks.

It might be hard to find cross-language benchmarks doing that, but
that's something we try to do on http://speed.pypy.org when
comparing CPython and PyPy's speeds.
