New submission from Guillaume Bouchard <guillaume.bouchard at liris.cnrs.fr>:

The attached code runs slower on pypy than on cpython.

Times on an i7 950, ~28s for python2.7, more than 1 minute and 10 secondes for
pypy1-6nightly
$ pypy1.6nightly --version
Python 2.7.1 (82bf0efcfe7d, Aug 11 2011, 02:06:34)
[PyPy 1.6.0-dev1 with GCC 4.4.3]

>From IRC, Alex_Gaynor guess that it may comes from the support of "long type"
which is slower on pypy than cpython.
