I'm confused, because this script seems not to have many young objects at all. 
Almost all float objects in the list should be old by the time we call
copy.deepcopy().  Can you try to see in the logparser if the 64.5% of gc time
come mostly from the later time in which copy.deepcopy() in running, or from the
earlier time in which we build the list of floats?
