mwh: can you implement this in pyrepl?  Or would you prefer that we do it
ourselves?  I suspect that it's a matter of listing the most common key
combinations from /etc/inputrc into some file of pyrepl, and not actually
reading /etc/inputrc at run-time, as that seems more messy than it's worth (e.g.
handling $if...$endif).
