It comes from unix file semantics. You have two open files and 234 is written 
*before* 1111 is written. There are possible workarounds, if you want this 
particular usecase, but I suggest closing files is probably a better idea.

As far as patches go - I think we would accept a reasonable patch, but I still 
consider this as a wontfix.
