Matt can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that version of the code 
  only works in a .cmd file and not in the older .bat file.  So you'll 
need to change the filename from pytest.bat to pytest.cmd.  Or have 
both, since .cmd files don't work on Windows 98.
