FWIW, my understanding was only standard library changes would be
allowed after Apr 30. I don't recall hearing anything about "pure
python" vs. otherwise, but I guess "pure python" corresponds to
"standard library"...?

I'm not *in*-sane. Indeed, I am so far *out* of sane that you appear a
tiny blip on the distant coast of sanity.
