I can't talk about 2.2, but my experience with Django suggests that
support 2.3..3.0 is feasible. It's a lot of testing, of course.

So if you still have 2.2 users, I think it would be possible to
support them. Of course, dropping 2.2 support (and perhaps 2.3
as well) would simplify the testing, and perhaps may allow removing
some quirks, before new quirks get added.
