I'd love to provide some more details, but the problem is that I've stopped
programming for Zope at work, so I don't have the time to really look
at it closely any more.

It happened for me on linux as well, though, so at least given the way I've
been compiling python and zope, it was repeatable, and did go away when
I turned off cyclic garbage collection.

I agree, however, that given that noone else has reported it, the liklihood
is that it's something that I was (or wasn't) doing, and as such the bug
probably should be closed.

Basically, the steps I went through were to:

download and compile python 2.0 into a local directory, enabling most of
the shared extensions.

add the build target to my path.

compile and install PyXML.

compile and run zope.

edit a few dtml documents using the management interface.o

after about 5 minutes of editing, the zope process would fall over.

I guess it could be in interaction with a previously installed version
of python.

Toby.
