Summary: remember to sync trees

Initial Comment:
There are various fixes hitting the trunk that I'm not
considering for 2.2.1 that should probably be
considered for 2.2.2 if that ever happens.

Conversely there may be a few things I've fixed in the
22-maint branch that haven't been fixed on the trunk.

Don't forget these.

Michael, I'm closing this on the assumption you don't need
it any more or it's been overcome by events. Sorry if this
is incorrect.

Michael, do you still want this kept open?

By looking at CVS logs? I don't think there were very many
in fact (making StringIO work in --disable-unicode builds is
the only one I can actually remember).

I wasn't actually expecting *you* to do it at all -- I was
going to do a log scan after 2.2.1 was done with (there's a
reason I assigned this to myself).

How do I know what you fixed on the branch that should be
moved to the trunk?
