Initial Comment:
The Scripts menu of PythonIDE has a display problem.  Everywhere the ellipsis (...) symbol should be are a comma, an umlauted A and a paragraph symbol.  Python 2.3.a1

The poster on the mac list mentioned MacPython so I thought he meant the OS9-compatible MacPython. I don't see the effect there, but I do in a FrameWork build. Fixed in CVS.

I thought I saw a note here or on the python-checkins list that Jack had
switched the default encoding to ascii.  If you want/need mac-roman I think
you'll need to edit site.py.
