Category: Documentation
Group: Python 2.2.1
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Priority: 5
Submitted By: Ross Boylan (rboylan)
Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody)
Summary: unbalanced parentheses for lists
Initial Comment:
Section 5.2.4, list displays, includes this line:
listmaker ::= expression ( list_for | ( ","
expression)* [","] )
Doesn't that need another ")" somewhere?
My documentation says
Python Reference Manual, July 29, 2002, Release 2.2.1+
It's on a Debian testing system.

I fail to see the problem. There are two ( and two ).
Perhaps, you are confused since the ) immediately follows
expression without a space? Is the following clearer?
expression ( list_for | ( "," expression )* [","] )
