In 2.3.1, pyconfig.h defines HAVE_SYNC if fsync is present:



/* Define if you have the 'fsync' function. */

#define HAVE_SYNC 1



but posixmodule.c looks for HAVE_FSYNC

I expect that that's a typo in configure.in.
