In 2.3.1, pyconfig.h defines HAVE_SYNC if fsync is present:
/* Define if you have the 'fsync' function. */
#define HAVE_SYNC 1
but posixmodule.c looks for HAVE_FSYNC
#ifdef HAVE_FSYNC
PyDoc_STRVAR(posix_fsync__doc__,
"fsync(fildes)\n\n\
I expect that that's a typo in configure.in.

I can answer that: yes.
I assume this is a simple typo in configure.in, but if we're
using autconf 2.57 now, I'll need to install that before
checking the fix in...
