Update: I got the docs compiling on my machine, and I can
confirm that there are no other errors. I've also learned
that file should be named "libsmptd.tex" instead, and
there's a trivial one-line addition needed in lib.tex. But,
of course, you already knew that <wink>.

I think moshez's text may be minimal but it's way better
than having NO docs. So I propose we accept it as-is: we can
always improve things later. With that in mind, I am
re-assigning this to Fred, and I've also revised moshez's
attachment slightly. Add this file as smptd.tex in
python/dist/src/Doc/lib and it should work. (I've made it
pass texcheck.py, there could still be some higher-level tex
errors.)
