The Lib Reference says in section 2.3.4 (Numeric Types
-- int, float, long, complex):

"Plain integers (also just called integers) are
implemented using long in C, which gives them at least
32 bits of precision."

I think it would be helpful to insert the following
sentence here: "The maximum value on your platform is
sys.maxint."
