Initial Comment:
Due to the following code, logging.exception("") does not work. I suggest replacing s[-1]=="\n" with s.endswith("\n").

logging/__init__.py:formatException():
--snip--
        if s[-1] == "\n":
            s = s[:-1]
        return s
