On the Github site Raymond Hettinger is mentioned as the reviewer. I don't know how to contact him, can anyone ask him if he can review the PR on time for inclusion in Python 3.7 ?

I understand that it's difficult to find time for this and that there are many pending PRs ; I can't judge if this one is more or less important than the others, but the issue has been discussed for a few months now, the code has been improved after many iterations, so hopefully it should not be too far from approval.
