Just to make sure: the distutils tree under Lib/distutils
isn't the same as the one available via the distutils module
at cvs.python.sourceforge.net... or is it ?

I'm just asking because as I remember, Greg used to checkin
patches for the distutils tree rather than the Lib/distutils
package -- that was only updated every now and then when
Greg felt like making a new release.

To make sure, I'd suggest applying the patches to the distutils
CVS module as well.
