Sorry, I've been doing 5.9 things at once.

The doc change definitely is a bugfix.  Probably so the others; I
believe the recent email package changes should be backported to
Python 2.2.2, but I'm happy to do them myself, once I'm sure they've
settled down.

Feel free to submit an SF bug report assigned to me if you want me to
do it.
