Sorry if I created disturbances here. I actually did read the mailing
list, that's why I tried to get the changes in *before* the alpha
release. I believe is read the time wrong and thought that was an hour
before the freeze for the alpha.

I'll add the entry to Misc/NEWS in a minute.

I'll know better in the future.

I will of course do that, but it will take some time. Adapting to the
C API changes in 3.0 is not so trivial for me.
