At least some of us would have loved to have someone dedicated to
developing 2.7-only patches, backporting 3.3 (currently) maintenance
patches to 2.7, and watching 2.7 buildbots after either type were
pushed. No one ever volunteered.

Guido has suggested that our future 2.7 work focus on keeping 2.7
building on the latest OSes rather than on bugfixes per se. For either
goal, volunteers (whether paid by someone else or not) would still be
helpful.

Indeed, we need to become more efficient just to adequately support 3.x.
