No, *I* wrote `plait() is *good*.'

In English, `plait' is a slightly unusual word with a meaning almost
indistinguishable from `braid'.  The difference is that the primary use
of `braid' has to do with hair, while `plait' is associated with ribbons
or other forms of ornament.
