I understand what you did and why. What I think is wrong is to use the
same name for the filename of the windows installer, source tar etc.
Each kit has a unique version but you have not reflected it in the
filenames. Only the filename is visible in a browser.
Why can't you add the 3 vs. 4 mark to the file name?
I cannot see the time stamp from a browser without downloading the file.
Won't you be getting bug reports against 2.0b1 and not know which one
the user has unless that realise to tell them that the #n is important?
You don't have any quick way to check that the webmaster on CNRI has change
the file to your newer version without downloading it.
I'm sure there are other tasks that user and developers will find made harder.
