Err. I don't know what you mean with "filter", but in Haskell, there is a
big difference between filter and takeWhile.

Prelude> filter (>3) [1..5]
[4,5]
Prelude> takeWhile (>3) [1..5]
[]
Prelude> dropWhile (>3) [1..5]
[1,2,3,4,5]
