I saw this a while ago and filed bug 712056.  In my case it was problems
with unicode and the newly introduced iconv module.  At the time, this
and a few other bugs caused the developers to yank the iconv module from
the release and things compiled properly.

Could be completely unrelated but I thought I'd mention it.
