def <arbitrary-rvalue>(params):
    ...

?

Hey, here's a way of writing switches:

dispatch = {}

def dispatch['a'](a):
    print 'it's a'

...

dispatch[var](param)

Not at all sure if I like this or not.  It's quite a change.
