With the Fink installed I don't see installed in /sw anywhere.  Perhaps 
my Fink is too old (don't really use it).

The patch.  See if it works for people as it should.  I managed to get 
autoconf 2.53 to work on my laptop and tzset still showed up, but I got 
some other new errors that might be related.  I am going to try to get 
2.57 working on my laptop before I start worrying about the new errors.
