Carl Kleffner referred me to an interesting discussion regarding VC6 and VC7 compatibility: http://tinyurl.com/baok The bottom line seems to be that the C runtime libraries for VC6 and VC7 are currently binary compatible but that might change in the future. And CRT-allocated resources cannot be shared between the two. Cheers, Brian
