Very cool.  I haven't read it all (I have no time and I'm no expert on
this area), but it seems you have worked diligently with the
community, and the idea needs to get closer to implementation.  I
suggest that you register with the PEP editor right away to get a PEP
number assigned -- there's no reason to have this be considered a
"proto-PEP" still.
